Ink Portraits Workshop, 24 May

Ink Portraits Workshop, 24 May

In this 2.5 hour workshop I’ll be introducing you to monochromatic ink painting techniques and teaching you how to paint portraits.

In the first part of the workshop you’ll explore different mark making/brush techniques and ink qualities. Then you'll learn basic facial anatomy and how to draw people, composition and how to approach portraits, some tips and tricks on where to start and how to make the painting work (reference photos will be provided on the day).

We will be painting ink portraits on A3 and A4 sheets of paper. It’s one of my favourite mediums to get my creative juices flowing, get out of a creative block, get outside of my head, explore my style and really listen to where brush and ink take me. It’s a very fun and liberating process. Black and white ink paintings make beautiful and striking statement pieces.

The technique can be applied whenever you want to get your creativity going or apply newly learned techniques in other areas of your painting.

We will be using:

Round synthetic brush

Black Ink

All materials are provided (and are for you to take away with you and practice more) as well as snacks and a glass of wine.

This workshop will take place on:

Thursday, 24 May, 18:30 - 21:00
